The Bet of Ficmonterrey’s is to win

Through talks, dialogues, panels, and conservatories, the Monterrey International Film Festival seeks to establish itself as a space of dialogue between all those who make films in the city, in Mexico and the world.

In an online press conference, the organizers of the Festival stressed that those who are part of this sixteenth edition will not only be able to enjoy the films that are part of the Official Selection, but also get inspired by experiences that will be shared at the V Women In Cinema Encounter, KinoStartLAB and FILMO: Forum for the Future of Mexican Cinema.

Women in Cinema Encounter

Women screenwriters, directors of fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental, share their experiences through the V IWomen In Cinema Encounter, which will be entirely online and will give us the possibility to bring conversation and participation to the international level. All activities will be from 13 to 20 August (except Sunday 16) at 10:00, through our social media and only on 20 August, a second panel will be at 12:00 h.

KinoStartLAB

Since 2018, KinoStart LAB has the purpose of being a space for growth, development, and experimentation for filmmakers in training. Under the indication ¡Cuenta! Cuenta!, we will explore the origins, forms, and structures that filmmakers give to their proposals. For the first time in a completely virtual format, KinoStart LAB will be available to all filmmakers anywhere in the world. All activities will be from 13 to 20 August (except Sunday 16) at 15:00, through our social media.

FILMO: Forum for the Future of Mexican Cinema.

With the title “El despertar de las pantallas”, FILMO will explore over seven days how some of the most important members of the Mexican audiovisual industry imagine the industry could overcome the affections caused by the SARS-CoV2 virus. All activities will be from 13 to 20 August (except Sunday 16) at 18:00, through our social media.
